Bestact Reed Element


The Bestact element is a highly reliable, broad control range reed switch that when used and implemented in various application products provides a user or manufacturing operation the utmost in uptime and throughput. Its broad control range allows a user to select one switch for any control load from TTL logic to fractional DC horsepower, thereby decreasing the various types of control devices needed for spare parts allocation while ensuring the same reliability levels.

Yaskawa's Bestact™ high capacity 3 and 5 amp reed relays offer industry DIP standard mounting format. They have UL/cUL recognition for gaseous Class I, Division 2 hazardous locations or corrosive environments and have been shown to significantly reduce downtime and/or maintenance costs. These relays have pilot duty inductive switch ratings of 360VA (AC), 69VA (DC) and horsepower ratings of 0.5 and 1/8 HP respectively. For low-level loads, they exhibit a wiping action that keeps contact resistance very low and stable. 2 and 4-pole configurations of normally open and normally closed contacts are available.

Yaskawa's Bestact™ high capacity 3 & 5 amp reed (RB- series) multi-pole relays offer industry standard 8 pin (octal), DIN and panel mounting capability. They have UL/cUL recognition for gaseous Class I, Division 2 hazardous locations or corrosive environments and have been shown to significantly reduce downtime and/or maintenance costs. They offer greater shock/vibration resistance than electromechanical relays and better voltage isolation versus solid state relays. These multi-pole relays have pilot duty inductive switch ratings of 360VA (AC), 69VA (DC) and horsepower ratings of 0.5 & 1/8 HP respectively. For low-level loads, they exhibit a wiping action that keeps contact resistance very low and stable. 2, 3 and 5 pole configurations of normally open and normally closed contacts are available.

Yaskawa's BestactTM dustproof and flood-tight limit switches offer industry compatible mounting capability with IP52-IP68 (~NEMA 2-6) enclosure ratings. These switches utilize Yaskawa's world-renowned Bestact™ inductive rated (360VA, 0.5HP) reed switches. They do not need snubber, varistor, or diode protective devices for contact protection as other electromechanical and solid state switch products require. They are ideal for corrosive, dirty, extreme temperature, and gaseous Class I, Division 2 hazardous environments where reliability and reduced maintenance costs are of the utmost importance. Multi-pole options, two-line wiring, and other features are offered.

Bestact Magnetic Proximity Switches


Yaskawa's Bestact™ dustproof and flood-tight proximity switches offer industry-compatible mounting capability with IP52-IP68 (~NEMA 2-6) enclosure ratings. These switches utilize Yaskawa's world-renowned Bestact™ logic and inductive rated (0.5 & 0.125HP) reed switches. General locations up to 510°F (265°C) and sensing distances up to 4.33" (110mm) are possible. They do not need a DC power supply or snubber/varistor protective devices and do not employ complicated amplifying circuitry that is needed for photo-electric/inductive proximity switches. They are ideal for corrosive, dirty, extreme temperature and gaseous Class I, Division 2 hazardous location environments where failure is not tolerated and reduced maintenance costs are of the utmost importance. Two-line wiring and latching capability are other features that are offered.

Pushbutton Switches


Yaskawa's Bestact™ oil-tight and waterproof 3 amp reed push-buttons offer industry-standard 30 mm diameter operators with a NEMA 4/13 enclosure rating. They are ideal for gaseous Class I, Division 2 hazardous locations where explosion-proof enclosures are not needed. These push-buttons are UL Listed and CSA Certified and have pilot duty inductive switch ratings of C300 (180VA) and Q150 (69VA). NEMA size 4 or larger contactors can be energized directly. Available operators are flush, half-shroud, full shroud, mushroom head, 2 position knob, and cylinder lock. Up to four contacts per operator can be used.
